The Hooping Life

I was so honored to participate and perform at the Premier of The Hopping Life Documentary at the Charleston Film Festival.
I'm also really proud to be part of this video that discusses it :)
Enjoy!

Hoop Adventures- raving

Taking a hoop to a rave or large club can be really great or super frustrating. People want to use your hoops, people will completely disrespect your hoops. It's a strange eb n flow. I bring mine everywhere I go, if I can. But last weekend I had to deal with both issues, which was not surprising. I'm glad that#1 b.A.D. ASS let me bring mine in. #2 the music, lights and energy was great. The bottle neck to get outside almost ate my hoops but I'm glad they resolved that quickly. #3 I'm glad Meredith got to experience such a cool party. And she fell in love with hooping!

I am most happy to share but sometimes I have to say no. And trying to get anywhere with multiple hoops in tow causes some congestion to say the least.

I still hooped my butt off. Got to play with my uv hoop in a blacklight and made some new friends and spread hoop love!

Wedding Make-up, Larson Wedding, May 19th

what a fabulous weekend!  Meredith Daniels and I drove up to Virginia to do the make-up for my Clients, the Larsons.  We did 14 faces Saturday Morning, before Chrissy got married.  the ladies looked spectacular and Meredith and I were a great team.
Pictures coming soon, as soon as I figure out how to get them from my phone to Blogger.

I would really like to do more weddings.  I really enjoy working with families and bridal parties and making them all feel so beautiful.  I will be working in coming months to start establishing myself here in Charleston.  I'm also thinking about cosmetology school.  I'm well trained but it would be nice to have the certifications in SC to make everything official.

The look we designed for this wedding was a dramatic but elegant eye. Lots of purple, gold, bronze and pink. Not all together of course but the final result for each lady was spectacular. We also applied false lashes to everyone. Highlighted eyes and cheeks but kept cheeks and lips soft and rosy. Touch a gold glitter to finish the look.
Used mostly Bare Minerals and urban decay products. Fabulously beautiful!

Wow-Spin-Beauty by Lori Jacobsen

Hello all!   This my new blog.  I'm going to be sharing my adventures in hooping, dance, make-up artistry, performance and other creative endeavors.

I currently work 2 jobs and my creative goals have taken a back seat.  However, my joy should be my job! so I'm trying to refocus.

I am currently performing and teaching with Catalyst Circus and Performing Arts.  http://www.catalystcreativearts.com/  I teach Cheer Fitness and perform Hoop dance at special events.  I am open for bookings:  Fund Raisers, galas, bands, weddings, and other events that need some fun and exciting entertainment.  I can perform with multiple hoops, Led/glowing hoops, and Fire hoops.

I do free lance make-up for weddings and other special events.  I have taken a hiatus since moving to Charleston, but I would like to start working with a planner and/or brides again!  I am professionally trained and use all bare minerals for the most natural beautiful look possible!

I am auditioning for the Electric Forest Hoop Troupe and this is my video reel.  Please take a moment to view and 'like' on YouTube!

I will be sharing more soon!  thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
